Only 4 sleeps until Christmas!
We’ve had our first light dusting of snow here, and everything looks so festive and lovely! There’s a bit more snow in the forecast and I have my fingers crossed tightly so we might have a white Christmas!
I’ve finished work for the year and now can really focus on soaking up the holidays, spend time with family, and read a few books. There’s really nothing better than lazy days spent relaxing by the Christmas tree, listening to my favourite Dean Martin carols.
If you’re still in need of a sweet addition to your Christmas brunch menu – or to your holiday dessert table – this Spiced Pear Crumble Cake would be welcome!
Where’s the heart-eyes emoji when you need it?! Are these heart-shaped Strawberry Breakfast Pastries not the cutest thing ever??
It’s just over a week until Valentine’s Day and I love any excuse to celebrate love! (And with the world in the crazy state that it is, we could all use a little more love.)
J and I don’t make a fuss for Valentine’s Day, but we do always make a delicious dinner together and pop open a nice bottle of wine. I also love to make a heart-shaped celebratory breakfast. Last year I made heart-shaped Lemon Ricotta pancakes, and this year, we’re having these heart-shaped Strawberry Breakfast Pastries.

Raise your hand if you love eggnog.
Raise your hand if you love waffles.
We love both in this house – and as if we need an excuse to drink more eggnog – I swapped out the milk for eggnog in my go-to fluffy waffle recipe that we adore.
Have you ever made homemade granola? It’s the best thing ever. I used to spend lots of $$$ on store-bought granola, even occasionally buying the super fancy granola from specialty cafes. There was a while when I ate yogurt+granola for breakfast every day, so my granola consumption was HIGH.
Then I realised – why can’t I make this? Granola is just oats, right? Pretty much. Oats, coconut, some spices, and a few liquids to hold everything together. My favourite granola recipe is adapted from Smitten Kitchen’s cookbook (original recipe is re-printed here).
