Savory Ricotta Chive Waffles

A savory waffle to eat with soft scrambled eggs and bacon (or anywhere you would eat toast!).

  • 1 egg separated
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chives, chopped


  1. In a small bowl, beat the egg whites on high until they form stiff peaks. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Pour in the melted butter, milk, ricotta cheese, and chives and beat ingredients together until smooth.
  3. Gently fold in the beaten egg whites.
  4. Pour your waffle batter into your waffle iron and cook according to the manufacturer's directions.
