Happy Christmas Eve Eve! Only one day to go until Christmas!

Tomorrow morning J and I are catching a very early plane to Mexico to spend a week in the sun with my family. We aren’t doing any gift exchanging this year - our present to each other is the vacation together! I can’t wait. We’ve had such a rainy, snowy, and cold winter so far - it will feel so good to be blasted with some heat.

This will be my last post until 2017. And what better way to celebrate than a Rosemary Gin Fizz cocktail?! Cocktails may not be breakfast food, but they are certainly appropriate at a brunch party - or any other time of the day after that. 😉

Simple Homemade Apple Cider

What do you normally drink in the morning? Coffee? Tea? Water? …?

I am a coffee drinker, myself - not because I need my cup of joe, nor because I’m addicted to the caffeine, but because I like the taste and it’s a nice ritual. There’s just something about heating up our espresso machine, listening to the ssssssssssshhhhttttttt while steaming milk, pulling a foamy shot of espresso, and then pouring it into my favourite thermos.

But, there are some days when I don’t want a coffee with my breakfast - I want something more special. Something more seasonal. Something like Homemade Apple Cider.

Kiwi Green Juice | breakfast for dinner

It’s a new year! I hope you had the happiest of celebrations. This year is going to be a BIG one for me - most notably because J and I are getting married in August! (Eek!)

I love the idea of a fresh start, of reevaluating where you’re at, and realigning yourself with what’s important. Although it’s cliched, every January I like to try out a few new healthy recipes and I appreciate my workout routine with renewed enthusiasm (although I detest how busy the gym gets!).
